The kitchen in this modern Westboro infill was designed with a modern farmhouse aesthetic in mind.

This two-tone kitchen incorporates painted MDF cabinetry throughout. The perimeter cabinets include a classic white painted shaker door with narrow rails on the upper walls and slab style doors for the base cabinets. The island is designed in the same slab style door as the perimeter base cabinetry, but is finished in a deep blue/grey. The sloped, decorative range hood provides a contemporary alternative to the more ornate decor hood styles typically found in a traditional farmhouse kitchen.

In an effort to dress up the frameless boxes, a creative combination of panels, fillers, cover board and bulkhead trim were used to give the illusion of a framed-in cabinet aesthetic, bringing a touch of Americana to the perimeter wall cabinets.

A pair of red oak floating shelves are installed on either side of the custom decor hood, and impart some natural beauty to the space, offering a gentle accent to the white cabinetry and tiled backsplash surrounding them. A polished white quartz countertop is beauty personified, furnishing the kitchen surfaces, as matte black cabinet knobs and pulls impart a stroke of boldness to this timeless design.

Not to be outdone by the aesthetic, this kitchen design offers plenty of functionality and convenience. The range is nestled between a spice rack pullout on the left and a vertical tray divider on the right. A frame-finished microwave cabinet includes base pot and pan drawers. The island also includes a waste bin pullout and shallow depth tip-on cabinets underneath the overhang.

All-in-all, this gorgeous kitchen design provides a breath of fresh air to the modern farmhouse aesthetic.
