From top to bottom, this personalized kitchen design takes functionality and customization to new heights while simultaneously incorporating a stunning visual aesthetic that will leave you speechless.

With one of the homeowners being a survivor of the 2019 OC Transpo accident, the kitchen layout was intricately tailored to prioritize wheelchair accessibility and convenience. A vacant sink base allows for plenty of wheelchair access, while deep, spacious seating was included under the island overhang. The island also includes a recycle station with a nifty pull out cutting board and built-in double wall ovens are situated lower for optimal convenience.

The cabinetry system utilizes Deslaurier's timeless "Brookfield" shaker door throughout. MDF is painted white for the custom wall pantry and perimeter cabinets. While an ebony stained birch is used for the island, forming a classic black and white two-tone kitchen. The kitchen countertops are nothing short of a statement-maker, as luscious Cambria quartz surfaces with immense veining furnish the island and wall counters.

With all the base cabinets employing drawers, kitchen storage space will never be an issue. Especially when they’re equipped with a custom spice pullout, and plenty of rollouts. The microwave is built-in to the perimeter base cabinet, situated neatly between the cooktop and the fridge, creating the optimal kitchen workspace.

Of course, what’s function without some fun? The clients “wanted a little glam” in the space, and this design delivered. Two glass upper cabinets, on opposite sides of the hood fan, catch the eye with black interiors to contrast the overall whiteness of the room. Shiny, polished nickel hardware pulls livens up the cabinetry and turns a small detail into a striking feature.

A bar and butler’s pantry equipped with a prep sink and beverage fridge put the proverbial cherry on top of this one-of-one design.
