This family home was all about creating a space that felt upscale and impressive but still fun and totally relaxed. The open shelving, white backsplash and white Cambria countertops make this kitchen feel effortless, light, and airy. Gold accents in the light fixtures as well as the caramel colours stools add a level of warmth and a sort of simple luxurious touch.

An abundance of natural light washes over this kitchen and highlights the contrast of the dark island in an otherwise completely light kitchen, adding a boldness and richness that compliments the open concept space. A playful herringbone backsplash stretches over the entire wall to break up the monotony of the horizontal lines from the counter tops and open shelving. The light wood colour of the open shelving brings a contrasting organic element to ground all of the black and white. Off to the side of the kitchen you'll find a custom cocktail bar with a built-in wine fridge, bold black subway tile and natural wood open shelving that ties in with the rest of the kitchen. The brass faucet and handles are match made in heaven for the rich dark ebony cabinetry that matches the kitchen island.

Focusing on simple, classic finishes with some statement pieces throughout, this interior designer achieved a vibe that feels cool, relaxed and earthy yet still playful and trendy.
