Field Installation Supervisor Carp, Ontario

Deslaurier is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fulfill the role of a Field Installation Supervisor.

The purpose of this role is to work with the install team and the inspectors to ensure a quality installation that meets and exceeds Deslaurier Custom Cabinetry Standards. The successful candidate will have experience leading a team of employees/sub-contractors and have strong communication skills in order to engage and interact with the installer and inspector clients, as well as conduct site visits to ensure a timely and complete install.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Develop the Team

  • Create a winning environment in all field installation teams
  • Lead the internal and external (subcontractor) installation teams in their daily installation projects
    • Ensure each team is set up to succeed each day with all the correct information and paperwork
  • Communicate with other departmental leads efficiently and effectively
  • Adapt to the day-to-day business demands and plan for seasonal highs and lows
  • Manage customer expectations throughout the installation process as problems arise
  • Hold regular meetings with installers to review new products, process and to give general updates
  • Attract, Train, and Retrain the best installers in the region
  • Attend regular site meetings and trade safety meeting
  • Complete annual performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all clients, builders, and trade partners
  • Timely submission and return of completion slips from builder sites

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement an installation guidelines process and quality document
    • Hold all installations to a quality standard set with-in document
    • Provide feedback to each area of the business on any quality issues
  • Lead continuous improvement changes with the install teams
  • Perform site check-ins, ride a longs and regular assessments to evaluate performance on site
  • Follow up with any teams not performing regular daily tasks

Manage KPI Targets

  • Execute and deliver on all KPI targets
  • Ensure job closure and order closure rates are at or above set targets
  • Minimize post-install service visits
  • Tracking installation costs compared to budget
  • Review and approval payment of installer invoicing

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of cabinetry installation, counter tops, woodworking and finishing techniques would be considered a strong asset
  • Finishing carpentry experience within the construction industry would be considered a strong asset
  • Minimum 5 years experience leading a team of employees and/or sub-contractors
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Maintenance Associate Renfrew, Ontario

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Associate is responsible for providing preventative maintenance and assisting with the daily onsite maintenance upkeep and repair of the manufacturing facilities and building systems to ensure things are kept at optimum operating levels. This will be a full-time evening position, primarily focused on the finishing department. The ideal candidate will have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, perform general maintenance and repair and assist in the repair and/or installation of various items, systems and/or components. 
  • Supports the maintenance work order control process, maintains records and retrieves data related to work performed by using computerized record-keeping systems. 
  • Assists with tasks as directed for the purpose of maintaining attractive facilities and minimizing damage. 
  • Request and maintains supplies, tools, and/or equipment to ensure the availability of equipment in safe operating condition. 
  • Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. 
  • Use proper PPE at all times. 
  • Other duties as assigned by lead hand or supervisor. 

Must be flexible and available to work hours outside of normal shifts, i.e., nights and/or weekends, scheduled, or call in.

We are currently looking for full-time Production Workers to work out of our Renfrew location. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Production Worker - Woodworking Ottawa East, Ontario

We are looking for someone to join our Production Team in Ottawa East. We have positions available in multiple departments throughout the facility, including CNC Operators, Finishing, Custom Woodworkers, Assembly, and Maintenance. 

Qualifications: 

  • Grade 12

Design Support Specialist - Distribution Sales Renfrew, Ontario

Deslaurier Custom Cabinets is looking for qualified individuals to join our growing Distributor Sales Team in Renfrew. The purpose of this role is to assist our Distributors Sales Team in building and growing a network of clients through inspired design and exemplary service. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Meet the budgeted sales goals while providing exceptional customer service. 
  • Drawing and costing out kitchens, bathrooms, etc., using 2020 software provided by DCC. 
  • Generating quotes and/or estimates for current Distribution Clients as well as new prospective dealers. 
  • Discuss with the customer their needs, wants, and design ideas, including assisting them with selecting suitable products (i.e., wood, MDF, thermofoil, countertops, hardware, etc.) 
  • Selling of small add on jobs to existing customers to assist the Distribution Customer Service Reps on existing accounts. 
  • Complete and submit all necessary paperwork using 2020 design software for the submission of the work order. 
  • Provide constructive feedback and ideas to management. 
  • Continuous improvement in product knowledge, design trends, and order accuracy.

The primary focus of this role is to complete service requests effectively and efficiently per the daily schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Field Service Repairs
  • pick up service parts and paperwork at Carp Depot each morning and ensure parts are complete before leaving Depot
  • attend appointments at specified locations and times as per daily schedule
  • complete repairs to DCC quality standards and customer requirements
  • report completion to service manager and if time permits, assist other field technicians

Delivery/Warehouse Assistant Renfrew, Ontario

Deslaurier is currently looking for a Delivery/Warehouse Assistant to work out of our Renfrew location. 

The purpose of this role is to work closely with other drivers, driver assistants, and warehouse assistants to provide ongoing support in the daily delivery and warehousing processes. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist and support the Delivery Driver with route, schedule, and daily tasks of deliveries to and from specified destinations, assisting in the physical lifting and carrying of products into customers' homes with care. 
  • Load and unload completed ordered in delivery trucks, arranging them in the truck by order of daily schedule and verifying paperwork against shipments to ensure accuracy and signoff document delivery status. 
  • Use proper personal protective equipment while on sites, around all vehicles and equipment. 
  • Unload goods at warehouse location. 
  • Assemble individually wrapped cabinets into pallets by work order and operate pallet wrapper to wrap entire skid for protection during shipment. 
  • Operate forklift as necessary. 
  • Add skids to storage for racking for future delivery.

Human Resources Recruitment and Employee Communications Administrator Renfrew, Ontario

The Human Resources Recruitment and Employee Communications Administrator will play an important role in acquiring new and retaining existing members. This individual will be responsible for the recruitment and hiring process from developing job profiles and descriptions to sourcing resumes and onboarding. In addition, this role will focus heavily on staff-level orientation as well as employee communications and recognition.
