Our clients were embarking on a significant renovation to completely transform their old bungalow into a new, improved, one-of-a-kind space. As part of this project, they required a custom kitchen design to reflect their style preferences while improving the layout for functionality. 

Our expert designer, Darien Wilson, was up to the challenge of this transformation. She had to “go big” with the kitchen design to match her client's desire for a truly exceptional space.

The Challenge

This open-concept bungalow’s transformation had a high level of custom millwork and detailing throughout. The unique custom kitchen cabinetry needed to be functional for storage while also serving as a central focal point against the extensive millwork.

The Game Plan 

To design a space with distinct “zones” and incorporate unique elements that smoothly transitioned into each designated area of the kitchen. 

The Result

This mid-century modern kitchen blended warmth and style, featuring custom millwork with personalized design elements. Floor-to-ceiling columns created a cohesive flow from the kitchen to the bar area and entranceway.

Vibrant pops of colour against the neutral tones and wood, along with various accent shapes, gave this design that genuine "wow" factor. Partnering with Urban Quarry and Amsted Design-Build brought an artistic touch, sophistication, and charm while avoiding typical trends.

Every feature was purposefully crafted to show their individuality, bold taste and style preferences. Two-toned custom kitchen cabinets, an oversized island, and a custom bar area added additional seating, storage, and counter space while optimizing the layout of the designated spaces.

This kitchen and bar space became a custom, artistic masterpiece.
